Celebrating 5 Years of the Leon Loft
Five years ago this month we opened the Leon Loft, a dedicated performance venue at our headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI. We teamed up with our longtime friend Rob Reinhart to host special episodes of his nationally-syndicated radio program Acoustic Café in our space, using our speakers.
In 5 years we’ve welcomed 34 artists and thousands of guests to the Leon Loft, and if you haven’t made it to a show in person, we have 65 videos on our Leon Loft YouTube Playlist for you to enjoy.
Here’s a look back at some of our favorite performances—cheers to 5 years!
Spoon: August 2017
In August of 2017, American rock band Spoon joined us at the Leon Loft to play songs from their 2017 release “Hot Thoughts” and to chat with Acoustic Café host Rob Reinhart. Brit Daniel’s performance of “I Ain’t the One” still gives us chills.
LP: February 2017
Alternative singer-songwriter LP performed live at the Leon Loft in February of 2017. She played songs from her album “Lost on You” and blew us all away with her incredible voice—and impressive whistling.
Paolo Nutini: December 2014
Scottish singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini performed an unforgettable show for us at the Leon Loft back in December of 2014. He played some of his most popular songs including, “Let Me Down Easy”, “Coming Up Easy”, and “No Other Way”, and he sat down for an in-depth interview with Rob. Check out the videos from his performance with us that have over 300,000 views on YouTube.
Shakey Graves: April 2015
In April of 2015, Austin, TX based Americana artist Shakey Graves wowed us all with his solo set featuring just his vocals, a vintage guitar, and his homemade kick drum suitcase.
Johnnyswim: June 2014 & September 2017
We were lucky enough to have Johnnyswim play for us twice at the Leon Loft, once in June of 2014 and again in September of 2017 at our 20th Anniversary party at CEDIA.
