Ann Arbor, MI – (May 17, 2018) – Leon Speakers, American manufacturer of high-end custom audio products that mix art with audio and design with technology, announced today that they are the recipients of a 2018 BORN Award for their Lena Sound Sculpture. The company’s President & Founder Noah Kaplan accepted the award at a private ceremony in Beverly Hills, CA on May 2nd.

Founded in 2010, the BORN Awards is an annual competition to honor innovative products that combine functionality and aesthetics. Previously only in Europe, this is the first year that BORN has expanded the competition to include the United States. Centered around a different theme each year, this year’s submissions were judged on their demonstration of the theme Peerless. “It alludes to the idea that there’s nothing else quite like it. A peerless design stands apart for all the right reasons. It’s easy to simply be different…but to truly deserve the term ’peerless’ takes imagination, intellect, wit, and more than a little wisdom” said Gerry McGovern, Land Rover’s Chief Design Officer.

A panel of judges comprised of 15 industry leaders selected the winning products in six categories: Architecture, Technology, Home, Leisure, Sport and Mobility. Leon’s Lena Sound Sculpture took home the award in the Home category.
